..... thank you

This year, the NHQHA Banquet and Awards Committee made a daring move to make honoring recipients receiving Presidents awards, and recognizing volunteers that made the 2007 events successful, at their Annual Business Meeting. They wanted to put this important program into its own special awards venue so it was scheduled to be a part of the Annual Business Meeting, held each year in November. They pulled it off.
The Annual meeting was held at the Cat -N Fiddle where members voted for new board members and bylaw changes.

The first annual President’s Special Awards Program saw President Cory Welch, bestow 76 honors which included the 2007 President’s 2007 Award, NHQHA Board member’s and then awarded gifts to the 62 volunteers that worked on events in 2007. Member and their family volunteers were given awards that were related to the hours served during events that their committee’s events ran during the year.

In addition to our many volunteers, President Cory Welch made his annual President's Award presentation to Barbara Breed for her tireless efforts to promote and foster the NHQHA.

President’s Message - March/April News and Views

Sue Eastman While we are all reveling in our end of the year banquet celebration issue of News and Views, let me tell you about one award that will not be handed out, by me, this year. The President’s Award. This award has been given annually to an adult or youth that demonstrates outstanding service to NHQHA …Well, to make this Association successful, it takes a team effort and a successful team does not single out any one player.

NHQHA is experiencing record breaking new and renewal memberships this year and we are offering more opportunities to be involved mounted and on the ground than ever before. Recognition is deserved by so many- your Board is working countless hours and leaving no document unturned as we update NHQHA administratively, organizing new committees and offering new programs.

There are over fifty members now serving our new committee structure! Our Association has many supporters; we couldn’t do what we do without our sponsors, our members helping at events or working extra hours to write the check that enables a rider to participate in a show, clinic or trail ride or the parent transporting a youth to one of their many activities. This is not a typical year and how could so many people offer so much and only one person be given an award? Instead, I will continue to support, encourage and applaud each and every one of one you for doing your part.

Spring really is just around the corner and soon this winter will be a memory and part of the record books. Let’s celebrate a new season – no, not mud and black flies but a new season of opportunities, horses and friends, old and new!
